Studio XPS 1645 Motherboard Replacement

I'm having a display issue with my Studio XPS 1645.  The display is very pixelated and it looks like parts of the screen from one part of the screen is repeated/duplicated on another part.  If I output to another display (like my TV), the exact same thing is shown on my TV.

My guess is that the issue is with the graphics card.  I assume there is no way to replace the graphics card (is that correct)?  Can I replace the graphics card or do I have to replace the motherboard?

If I do replace the motherboard, is the graphics card included and already installed on the motherboard?

Hi Deosola,

I would suggest you to update BIOS and the video card driver. Click on the link below, enter the Service Tag of your computer or choose from the system model, click on get drivers, choose the operating system, In the BIOS section downlad and update the BIOS, under the video section download the video card driver for your computer and install it. And do let me know if you need any more hlep.

No, you can't do that.

Since the external screen shows the same fault as the internal, the video chip is bad. The mainboard needs to be replaced.

How do I do a BIOS and video card driver update if I can't see what's displayed on the screen?

Is it possible to do a video driver update with the HDD attached as an external drive to another computer?
