Samsung Evo 840 1 TB mSata to the m3800

Anyone knows of any issue?

I am about to purchase a base model m3800 with the 8 GB RAM, FHD screen, 500 GB Hybrid Drive.

Or will replacing the 2.5" 500 GB with a 2.5" version of the Samsung Evo work better?

Hi merubin,

500 GB Hybrid hard drive is a club of SSD drive and normal mechanical hard drive. The hard drive would keep important regularly accessible files on the SSD drive as the SSD technology is faster. The Samsung Evo 840 1 TB mSata is a SSD you can replace it on the msata slot. Both the hard drives would be fast.

Thanks Ravi..I was just worried it might not support the Samsung brand or how huge the storage is..it's 1 TB I am putting in which wasn't on the list of Dell SSDs for this laptop -- only up to 512 GB of SSD.

Do you know if the mSata slot is 1.8" small?

I was never able to get the Samsung 1TB 840 EVO to work in my M14x R2. I wanted to swap out my existing Vertex 512 Gig SSD with the Samsung. After Dell support transferred me around from support group to support group for over three hours ending up with me being transferred to a line that said they were closed for the day at 11:30 am PST. I gave up on Dell. My company will Never Ever buy a Dull computer again!!!
