Snug USB ports

I have a Inspiron 4700 desktop. The USB front ports are extremely tight. Its not bad when hooking up a device but its very hard to unplug one. Its hard to grab the front ones, so I unplug with a needle nose pliers. It may seem like no big deal but replacing quality iPhone sync cords costs money. If I rub a little silicone on the connection will it cause problems?

thanks

There is no such model inspiron 4700.  You have a DIMENSION 4700.

WD40 will short out the connection. WD40 is flammable and will catch fire during a spark from a contact.

TV tuner contact fluid wont hurt things.

If you want lubrication use Spark plug dielectric grease.
