C10 wont join 802.1X network

Unhappy C10 wont join 802.1X network

We are deploying 802.1x WIFI (EAP-TLS with certificates) at work. All our android devices can join the network with user based certificate. Windows laptops can join the network with computer and user based certificates. but for WYSE C10, we are tying to join the network the same way that android devices did, with user based certificate, but no success at all..... always get error says:

[STA: fail to configure EAP-TLS (status=7201)] or
[STA: fail to configure EAP-TLS (status=8404)]

I input the certificate into wyse c10 and setup it followed document. also I configured wnos.ini file for connection. but I don't see the point that I have to have all configuration setup in wnos.ini file for 802.1x wireless connection, because before c10 establishes the connection to our network, it can't pick up any settings from wnos.ini file. what I did is to use wired connection first, make "enablelocal=yes" to memorize all settings into C10, then startup with wifi connection. Somehow it just wont work. here is my wifi settings in wnos.ini file.

device=Wireless
Mode=Infrastructure
SSID=radius8021x
RoamSensitive=low
IEEE8021X=yes
network=wireless
profile=radius8021x
access=WPA2-ENT
eap=yes
eaptype=EAP-TLS
tlsauthtype=user
tlsclntprikey=wyse-8021x.pfx (This is the certificate with private key)
tlsclntprikeypwd=xxxx
enablelocal=yes
SignOn=yes
DefaultUser=$TN
Password=$TN

Any one had the same problem before? Any ideas please ?

C10 wont join 802.1X network

Hi roberty,

Did you manage to successfully authenticate the thin client onto the 802.1X network?
I am having exactly the same issue with a D10D.

Thanks,
Nick

We have quite a few different digital camera's through the office and as of yet I have not been able to get a single camera to pass through the C10LE ThinOS device to the terminal server. If I take a Windows 7 workstation and connect to the terminal server and connect the cameras up, they all pass through to the server and I can pull the images.

Identical problem with a D10D.

Certificates install

the ini file looks correct:
;************************************************* ************
;* Wireless / 802.1x *
;************************************************* ************

IEEE8021X=yes network=wireless access=WPA2-ENT eap=yes eaptype=EAP-TLS tlsclntcert=MYCAroot.ca tlsclntprikey=testwifi.pfx tlsclntprikeypwd=testwifi tlsauthtype=machine encryption=CCMP
Device=Wireless Mode=Infrastructure SSID=classroom1

Consistently receive: "fail to configure EAP-TLS (status=-8403)." in the log...

Does it connect correctly when wired up? Try removing 802.1x temporarily just to connect the client, then after connected start 802 back up and restart the client.
