My Dell Warranty-Collect Return and Support

Hello,

what exactly does my dell laptop warranty cover-does anyone have links to a pdf or know if it covers accidental damage ? My warranty runs out on 22/6/18.

how much does a complete care insurance plan cost and does it cover hardware upgrade such as upgrading the processor ?

The warranty does not cover accidental damage.  Only a Complete Care insurance plan covers that.  Manufacturing defects are covered.

Collect and return warranty covers only hardware defects (manufacturing)


Dell technicians will assist you to troubleshoot over the phone & if they conclude that there is a hardware replacement required to fix the issue. They will assist you with a collect & return warranty & have your computer shipped to the service center, replace necessary parts & ship it back to you.


This type warranty does not cover any accidental damages, wear & tear or cosmetic damages.


Complete care warranty cannot be purchased after point of sale if you are in EMEA.


Complete care warranty does not cover any upgrades made to the system.

Complete care must be purchased with a system - it's not available afterward.  The usual cost is $300-400.

It does not cover upgrades (and in most cases, notebook CPUs cannot be upgraded after purchase anyway).
