Radeon 8850m wont show up in Dell 15R 5537 with W10

I recently got a Dell 15R 5537 with Radeon 8850m and did a clean install in Windows 10 Pro, but I can't manage to get the amd 8850m to work.

When i go to Device Manager, the driver is shown has generic video adapter.

When I ran Everest, though, The graphic card appears to be a Radeon Firepro W9000.

So i can't install the driver, I tried several versions of the driver, the ones from dell and crimson ones from AMD, but nothing work.

And yes, i did use DDU between driver installs.

At last, I tried to install some firepro w9000 driver, even aware that its not my video card, and the Device Manager displayed the card has firepro after that, but the videocard didnt work, got error(forgot the code, but the name changed in device manager).

Was the AMD GPU working correctly with the factory install of Windows?

Check your original system specifications using the service tag and Dell support site in the country of sale.  It looks like you have an Intel-only system (base models have just that;  only the higher-end models had the optional AMD GPU).

Interestingly Linux Ubuntu recognize the HD8850M card as a Radeon FirePro W9000.

Hi, I have the same problem with the graphics card HD8850M in my Inspiron 15R 5537. I've bought it with Window 8. The problem has start after upgrade to Windows 8.1. Now, I work under Windows 10 x64, and I still have problems with graphics card - like you. Sometimes I would like to throw this laptop through window :).

I decided to reinstall system Windows 10 but I had big problem with reinstallation - a lots of freezes when instalator automaticaly install drivers for graphics card. For example I couldn't install upgrade 1607 - system was freeze on 32% during install driver for graphics card.

Now, after full installation Windows 10 I have problems like yours.

AMD graphics card appears and disappears in Device Manager. At the begining system correctly recognized HD8850M and install drivers for this card. But when I start for example Google Earth and system switch graphics from Intel to AMD - system freezes. After few reboots of my computer system Windows 10 was install automaticaly driver for Radeon FirePro W9000 that doesn't work!!!

I tried to uninstall driver for Radeon FirePro W9000 and install HD8850M, but when graphics card disappears in Device Manager and appears again, Windows 10 automaticaly install  driver for Radeon FirePro W9000.

I have no idea what to do. I try to turn off this AMD card in Device Manager but sometimes as I wrote graphics card unexpectedly disappears in Device Manager and appears again. After this OS try to install driver again and ... system freezes.

When AMD card graphics is OFF computer works correctly - no freezes, no problems with sleep mode, system opens and closes very fast. I would like to turn off AMD permanently but i don't know how to do it

PS

Sorry for my English ;)

Krakers_PL,

When you did a clean installation of Windows 10 did you follow the correct Driver Installation Order?  If not, install the Chipset Drivers First. Below are links with information.
