Replace Dell XPS 8910 Hard Drive

I'm trying to replace a hard drive with a new SSD in a Dell XPS 8910.  However, there is a big black plastic piece that goes across the middle of the two hard drive bays that are not mentioned or pictured in the service manual and must come off some how to get the drive bays out.

How do I remove this bracket?  It's pictured below:

I see something that looks like it in the manual that is identified as the graphics card bracket. Page 58. Look at the back and see if has ports for the video card.

That model has complicated hardware removal. Doesn't it come with a ssd?

Thanks Mary G.  While it's not mentioned it in the remove hard drive section - what you found was exactly what I needed.  Thanks!

Thanks repeated - I'd been struggling with this problem for a while before finding this thread. The service manual obviously hasn't been taken through its paces by the writer, or anyone else - which is a shortcoming of Dell that I've encountered a few times before.

Do you need an additional SATA cable or is there one inside the computer. Old school computers would leave you a cable for a second drive.

You will need a SATA III cable (right angle to straight) and a 2.5" to 3.5" drive bay adapter to add the SSD.
