Dell Studio XPS 7100 GPU Upgrade

I have an old computer with the following specifications:

Motherboard: Generic (Factory installed)

CPU: AMD Phenom II X6 1090T (Black Edition, Stock Clock)

GPU: Radeon HD 5870 (1GB)

RAM: 8GB Stock (DDR3-1333)

PSU: Corsair C550M (550W) (Changed after the factory installed 460W PSU died)

Windows: 10 Pro (latest updates installed till date)

Will a newer graphics card like the Geforce Gtx 960 or 1060 work with this old cpu build ? If no, please suggest any graphics card that will enable me to run titles like Watch_Dogs 2 , Witcher 3: Blood and Wine etc.

The Studio XPS 7100 has a 460w power supply. The best video card that we validated was = 8F60V AMD Radeon HD6670

Two retail video cards customers stated working in this model =

AMD Radeon R7 250E, Nvidia GeForce 750 TI

9 Legend

If the 750TI works I see no reason why the 1050TI would not also work.

If price is an issue here are reasonable 6670's

Hi SpeedStep :)

I have an upgraded PSU which is the Corsair C550M (550W). Do you think a Geforce GTX 1060 (3GB or 6GB) will work with my PC ? Thanks in advance
