Josh:

Thanks for the note. Now a few hours into trying to get OM Essentials going.  I do have it installed.

Unfortunately not compatible with Chrome.   The IE security is blocking known good name and password so I cant access OME. Have used machine name,  IP address, localhost with the correct port.  Tried all of the IE security login options in Internet and Intranet zones.  Turned off Windows firewall.

Any ideas here?   I have the OMSA agent loaded on ESXi,  is there a different agent needed for OM Essentials?

Thanks

Josh.   OMSA is also running on this same server  (Win10)   No problem with OMSA reaching the R710.

Is it not discovering the server or not able to load OME? OMSA doesn’t allow you to do updates from it.

Josh:  Done these things.

Reinstalling now on Windows Server 2008 R2

Assuming we are not successful in getting OME going. Are there other options to update PERC6i firmware remotely?

If we go to the datacenter where the server physically is, what is best way to do the update given ESXi as the OS on the R710s.

Thanks

There is not another way to do it remotely. If you are onsite you can you reboot and go to F10 during POST and choose platform updates. You can also use repository manager to create a bootable image that can do the updates. https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=9RX9M

Josh:

OME starts but an iexplore security window pops up asking for name and password.  No combination is accepted. The window keeps popping up until I escape.  The OM Essentials windows then just stays on the screen and gets no further.

It should be a domain admin login. You may also need to add it to trusted sites within IE.

Hopefully  last one.  Have abandoned trying to install Essentials.  Tried Repository Manager. Inventory collection failure with Linux.iso.   Put on USB stick but that was never recognized.

Finally got somewhere with LCC and Dell FTP site using F10 at POST.

I have iDRAC6 Express installed and working on the remote servers but cannot figure out how to remotely get into LCC.   Possible?

Thanks

You would need the idrac enterprise for remote console access.
