Tag Transfer and Repairs

I filed for a tag transfer more than 3 weeks age as i live in india and purchased the laptop while in the US, now that its out of warranty and need repairs urgently, not getting throujgh with either is frustrating, also the customer care is not upto the mark. Also i want to check about the availability of the laptop screen.

Please help me with this asap.

In order to transfer the warranty:

1.  You must have upgraded (or now purchase an upgrade) to an onsite service plan.  The basic depot warranty doesn't transfer internationally.

2.  The system model you have must be sold in India.

3.  The system must be registered with Dell (this is often difficult if it was purchased used and/or through a third party).

Are all of these in place?  If not, the warranty transfer will fail.

Hello Sir, Thanks for your help. My issue was resolved in no time. Now if you could please help me with getting the screen installed and help me with the procedure that takes place. Thanks once again

The warranty transfer has completed & the system is registered to you in India.


I see that you have a carry in service (CIS) which means you will need to take the system to the nearest Dell authorized service center.


Please click on this link http://dell.to/2gUGHEA to find the nearest service center & they should be able to assist you further.

Thank you, Sir. But im aware of the nearest service centre and reached out to them before contacting the forum, i will go today and submit my laptop but i want you to pace the procdure up as i cant afford to wait for the 3 week duration. is it possible for you to do so.

I am afraid, we do not have control over the repair time at the service center.


This basically depends on diagnosing the issue & part availability. If there is a backlog in a part to be replaced, we will have to wait until the part arrives.
