Cant get into Bios

I Just got a alienware Aurora maybe 3 weeks ago. Everything work fine, however I wanted to check the overclock setting. When I tried to get into BIOS by pressing f2 at the start screen, the screen just went gray and would not load bios. I also tried f12, and same thing. Any Suggestions

I had the same problem on my Aurora R4 the first time I tried to get into the BIOS.It turned out the problem was my keyboard. I replaced the keyboard and it came right up. If you have another keyboard you could use, it's worth a try.

What kind of monitor and cable are you using? What port on back of Aurora?

Sounds like the system might be having a problem with the display resolution/frequency change.

Hi Frank1990,

I'm going to move your message to the Alienware forum for more help.

If the Asus-LCD and cable works on another PC, it would point to a problem with the Aurora.

When outside of Windows (like in the BIOS) there really isn't anything to config (video-wise) on the Aurora that would keep it from working. I think you are going to have to call phone support.

I tried other DVI ports,  and it is set to DVI. The color of the screen is a really dark grey, almost black If that help more

Also, I did update bios when I just got the PC but never attempted to go into bios until today

Hmm ...

Aurora DVI-1 port to
DVI Cable
DVI port on Asus-LCD

... should work.

Go into Asus menus and make sure it's still set to DVI port. Maybe press Auto-Sync or Auto-Adjust.

Only other thing I can think of is power-down and try other DVI port on Aurora.

Yup that worked, cant begin to understand why a keyboard would stop you from getting into bios

Yes, that is a strange one.I gave the keyboard that wouldn't work on my Aurora to my Granddaughter who has a Dell computer and the f keys work fine on it.
