Alienware X51 GPU/Graphics card upgrade
Hello!
I would like to know if I could fit a Nividia Geforce GTX 1070 6gb in my Alienware X51 r2
Would it fit in the size as well as would I be able to plug it into the socket?
Here are my specs:
Intel Core i3-4150 CPU @ 3.50GHz
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 745
12gb DDR3 Ram (I upgraded it from 6 to 12)
Thanks!

It depends on which card you get. The X51 series was a more compact box then most. Also which power brick did you get? You may need to look into getting at least the 330w for any upgrades.

It says input 100-240V and output 19,5V on the power brick. Is that any good?

It should have a Wattage like 220 Watts or 330 Watts. I think the 1060 would work but it really depends on the wattage.

I calculqated the input to be like 800 watts and output to be around 240watts, will i be able to get a better experiance then with the 745 with such low wattage?

No the 745 is a low watt lower end graphics card. I think you should call Dell to get the 330 watt PSU and then go for a low watt 1060. you may have to get the 4GB option instead of the 6GB.

you can run a 1500 watt.. wont hurt a thing .. it just means it can produce that.. dosent means its outputting it all the time computer takes what it needs and psu outputs what it needs tor run it.. til its hits its max capacity..
reason i ask if its worth it cause you loose the Alienware factor(case ) ... which most people care for and reason they buy or just build a custom tower.. my grandma has one of my old m17X R2 yes my grandma.. and it makes the cable service guys drool let alone the health care workers that help with her husband, and anyone else that comes by LOL granny rocking an alienware HAHAHA (2010 system) but for facebook that thing will last till the end of time... hahaha
