creators update deleted my realtek audio, and now stuck with crappy soundblaster recon3di
Alienware 17r2 2015 model... I bit the bullet and updated to the creators update(win 10)... My realtek audio manager is gone, and replaced with crappy soundblaster recon3di.. Tried to goto realtek site and get driver(and software) directly, I ,installed the one thats supposed to be correct, and still not there... Still the soundblaster, and realtek is not anywhere on my system. So I get about HALF the volume of what I was getting before... I Need HELP!!!

Try a clean-install of this driver

Not sure about Realtek on what is suppose to be a Creative Malcolm chip, but hopefully your volume will work properly again.
You can also try letting Windows Update install it's choice for a working driver (a 64bit driver Windows-10).

You can restore the lack of volume with SoundBlaster by accessing the program, adjust settings, and then save as a profile.
I had the same issue when I upgraded and resetting the SB profile restored all sound.
The Realtek issue seems to be common. A search on Google found these suggestions.

So I still dont have realtek, but did solve my volume issue.. I discovered the soundblaster control panel, which never popped up before... Was able to adjust the equalizer options(and others) and now my alienware is back to normal (loud) levels.. So as the old saying goes,if it aint broke, dont fix it! One more thing, do NOT advise the creators update... Game mode works for VERY FEW games.... And Almost NONE of mine, since they have to be windows "verified"games... And the update causes FAR more trouble then its worth!!

I was a bit concerned myself when my volume went low after Creater's install but most annoyances can be fixed easily. I posted an earlier thread with six or so issues after install and the fixes. If you have any other problems refer to that thread or ask here.

Be sure to mark thread as answered. (trying to catch up to Tesla)
