Replacing SAS drives on T3600

I have a T3600 with a PERC H310 controller and two SAS drives (non-RAID).

There are indications that this subsystem is starting to fail, and I'm wondering what my options are, in particular re switching to SATA.

There are two working SATA ports, one taken by an optical drive that I don't use, and the other by an internal SSD that I installed and that works fine.

I was thinking of buying a bigger SSD, and then imaging C: to it, and ultimately bypassing the SAS subsystem entirely.  One thing I'm not clear on is whether I can make the BIOS boot from the SATA devices.

Does this strategy seem feasible, or is there a better way to switch over to SSDs and effectively eliminate the SAS drives?
