Files Deleted Months ago on host-Procedure to find in Centera?
Not sure what the process would be or what utility I need to start with.
We had a bad script a vendor put in place that systematically overwrote several thousand tiff images.
So if we have c:\tiff1.tif and its deleted off the Windows host 90 days ago - How can I recover the file off the Centera and possibly pull it back then get it moved back to the server?
I'm really in a tight spot!

It was writtend by DiskXtender (apologies I didnt mention). And there may be instances where the bad SQL script re-used those file names. So my thought is that the content addressed tiff's are still on the Centera even though files have been overwritten ont eh windowns/DX host..

Hello,
The file can be retrieved using the application that was used to write it on to the Centera. It should not be an issue to restore it.

Hello,
When you edit a file on the extended drive, the new (edited) file is migrated to the EMC Centera device, and the original version of the file is deleted. In this way, only the newer version of the file remains on the EMC Centera cluster.
For you to understand this process better, I have attached the DiskXtender Administrators guide. Please refer page 63 and 405 that may help you.
