#symfast -sid xxx list -history does not work for FAST VP. best way to monitor the FAST VP is through SPA. Doing it from CMD line is not straight forward.
Hi , it is true according to emc283385 that the movement history is only for full volume FAST (thick) , but the thing it is confusing for the customer to see "No Data Movement History" when using "symfast -sid XXX list -history" , so what I've been looking is a way to find an entry in FAST or Optimizer or SE logs (events) that indicate chunk movement in FAST VP , and till now ..no luck
Starting with 5875 Q2 release, FAST and FAST VP (-vp) are seggregated. So all commands for FAST v1 uses "symfast" where as commands for fast vp uses "symfast -vp" and there is no history option available in FAST VP (symfast -vp).

The history counters you have are the ingress and egress counters in the pool.
You can also get per LUN how much capacity is in each tier. You could save that off every so many hours.

I think it would be better for the CLI to report that it isn't supported on FAST VP.

As per this screenshot from Solutions Enabler Product Guide, we can see that Plans and History are not generated in FAST VP

Do you have any idea on how to track FAST VP data move history using EMC SMI-S provider?
