Unisphere only supports ESX(i) hosts. vCenter servers are not supported. Root rights are required for ESX with Unisphere.

Have you check the Unisphere for VMAX installation guide. Hopefully you can find something useful.

Maybe a raw device map also works, but I have not tried either.

Only Esxi hosts are supported and the root user is required .
