IsilonSD Edge - Certificate issue

Hello,

I am trying to install IsilonSD Edge. I just finished deploying the management server and registered it with vCenter.

When I login to vCenter and try to "Create Isilon SD Cluster" I get the following error:

Please open the Isilon Management Server: https:// :9443 in the same browser and accept the SSL certificate.

I've tried in 3 separate browers (I.E., Mozilla, Chrome) and installed the certificate in all of them. Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

There is a solution to the SSL issue.

The specific issue is that the IsilonSD management server does not have a DNS domain assigned and in many cases cannot resolve the vCenter system name(PNID).  This is an issue if the PNID was assigned as a short name and not a fully qualified domain name.

Check and see what your vCenter system name is and then update the Isilon Management server resolve.conf or hosts file.

The best solution is to add a domain to the /etc/resolv.conf on the IsilonSD Management server.

If that does not work then add the short name and long name(FQDN) to the /etc/hosts file.
