Wipe the data on the disks of a VNXe 3300 ?
I asked this question last week, but need to dive a little deeper.
I asked about zeroing out the data on the disks of a VNXe3300. I was pointed to a document containing commands to destroy the data and prepare the VNXe for decommission.
However, I need to get down to the byte level on the disks and overwrite the data on the disks themselves.
Is there an EMC tool that will do this?
Thanks !

Hello pawtucketri72,
You can use this command zero out the drives so that data will not be readable.
navicli -h zerodisk -messner B E D
B Bus
E Enclosure
D Disk
Here is an example of how the command should look. navicli -h 192.168.1. 200 zerodisk -messner 1_1_6
Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Hello pawtucketri72,
You can run the command from command prompt on a system that has Navishpere or Unisphere on the host.

I realize this thread is old but I find myself in a similar situation; I need to decommission a VNX5800 and company policy is to destroy data.
Does this command need to be run multiple times for each disk within each enclosure and within each bus?
Is there a single command that would wipe all the drives in the entire array?
Thank you.

Hello jpalmero,
To do a full vnx data erasure with a single command, needs to be done via support. You can use the steps listed above & you can wipe all your drives one at a time.
