Waves MaxxAudio equalizer is not working anymore Windows 10

Hello, today i had a problem with the waves maxxaudio equalizer not working anymore. It happened just after a system crash from a buggy game. I tried uninstalling the audio driver and reinstalling it again, but still the same thing: app works fine and services load at startup and everything, even detecting earphones and internal speakers. The only and the main thing which doesn't work is the equalizer, any change i do doesn't affect the audio playback and I can't ignore it because sound is thin and flat without it, and I can't reinstall windows again because it's my main pc and I have so much assets that are painful to setup. Any solution?

It appears you know about saving a profile since you have iPods for a name.  If you are using an Apple headset, perhaps picking a headset instead of headphones might help.

Headsets also use the Dimension setting to give better sound.  At the same time, if you can get into the Windows Sound UI you might confirm the settings do not conflict or possibly are not even be enabled.

If your device was being recognized as a communications device, you would get poor sound.

I have the exact same problem with my new XPS 15 9570. Changing the EQ settings doesn't affect the sound at all, regardless of if I use a preset profile or change the sliders manually. The "Load Preset" option does change the sound, but I think that just affects the loudness.

I do not know why you are not getting any sound changes with the Equalizer.  The attachment looks like mine except I have the Details turned up some.  My Dimension option is on but the Spatial sound is off.

If you look at the Playback Sound Properties on the Advanced tab, what music quality are you showing?

I might try deleting the profile for your device and use Default or save a new one.

My final action to solve problems is to uninstall the Sound device until you see the Microsoft driver then reinstall the Realtek ones.

The fact the 9570 has a separate Waves installer may be involved with the problem.  If you only install the Realtek driver, do you still get the Waves options.  Because prior systems include the Waves software with the Realtek install, maybe something is being overwritten when you install the separate Waves drivers.

Saltgrass, did you managed to fix it this way?

I'm on a intall/uninstall loop here, nothing seems to work.

Dell Support told me to try formatting, but i want to try every option first.

I have not had a problem on my system, which is not an 9x70 system.  It is hard for me to even accept the Waves Equalizer is not having some effect on a system unless something was overriding those settings.

Since I can't test your situation, all I can suggest is reinstalling the driver.  If you have already done that a couple of times then possibly something is wrong with the driver or some other component of the sound system.

I see there was a Bios update on 6 Aug., have you installed that yet?

Dell Support said something is not right on the audio controller.

On linux it works.

Everything up to date

Dont know what it should be, my guess is some software incompatibility

The OEM audio driver will have to be de installed and re installed after every "Feature" update. this applies to 1803 as well as 1809.

You have to remove and Reinstall the OEM Audio Driver as Administrator.

You have to reinstall the software.

I got it working by going to Windows Sound in control panel, then select the output device, go to the spacial sound tab and enabling "Windows Sonic for Headphones". No idea why it's called that or why enabling that fixed it, but thankfully it did.
