Whatchdog timer problem
Hi, we have a big problem with watchdog timer with 4 R740XD.
We have disabled the watchdog in the bios options
but often we get a reboot with this alert
what's the problem?
Thanks!

Hello
There is a BIOS watchdog timer and a BMC watchdog timer. That error sounds like it is referring to the BMC/iDRAC watchdog timer. When the BMC/iDRAC watchdog timer is enabled it heartbeats with OpenManage Server Administrator. If the watchdog is enabled and then OMSA is uninstalled it will likely cause watchdog actions.
In OpenManage Server Administrator>System>Properties>Auto Recovery
Changing the action to none should disable the BMC/iDRAC watchdog.

Thanks, but we don't use "OpenManage Server Administrator" we use "Integrated Dell Remote Access Controller 9".
How can we do?
Thanks

I'm not sure what you are asking. I'm fairly certain I have provided the answer to your question. The first setting is the agent. The second setting is the recovery action. If you leave the agent running you are likely to continue seeing alerts.
If you need more information then I suggest reviewing the manual I linked.

We have disabled the "Automated System recovery Agent", like you said.
This is the result, but the problem persists.
Thanks

Make sure the iDRAC is at the latest firmware. If the issue persists then shut down the system and remove the power cables to drain flea power. If you would like additional assistance from me then send a private message with the service tag.

Reboot IDRAC. Works every time.
