PERC H700 in PowerEdge T610 ??
I am assuming that T610 and H700 are compatible (pls correct me if I'm wrong).
I tried to move an H700 controller that was inside a T410 server into a T610.
The problem is that one of the cables that goes to the backplane cannot be use because it L shaped and the long horzontal part collides with a power connector which is right next to the SAS socket (on the backplane).
Is there another type of cable that can be used that is NOT L shaped?

I'm sure there is a cable that works, maybe one of the Dell guys can give you a part number.
Just note that there are two versions of the H700 - the "integrated" version and the "adapter" version. The integrated version needs to go in the dedicated storage slot (towards the top edge/middle of the motherboard, not in the rear with the other expansion slots). The adapter version can't go in this slot.

Hello
R144M - Controller 0 to SAS A
N168M - Controller 1 to SAS B
Those are the cables for H200 or H700 in the T610. I'm fairly certain there is nothing proprietary about our cables, so you should be able to use any mini-SAS cables. Our cables are made for specific configurations to avoid excess cabling and maximize air flow.
Thanks

Thank you for the reply.
This is a picture of my T610 with the Perc 6 connected to the backplane (sas B in picture):

When however I attempt to replace the perc 6 with the H700 that I have (from my T410) this particular cable has the horizontal long part towards the LEFT side. Due to the power connector on its left it cannot be inserted.
Edited: Note that the Perc 6 is integrated and the H700 is PCI-slot based. Both using their original cables.

Hi I have a T610 that currently has a PERC 6/i , I have bought a H700 RAID Controller, my server has 8 x 2.5" SAS/SATA hard drive cage, the cables that come out from the PERC 6/i break away to 4 SAS connectors each one for a total of 8
How will I be able to connect with these cables you recommend 8 drives?
I am all confused
Thank you

Hello, thanks for choosing Dell. I'm afraid we are not able to answer this as your question involves a 3rd party part component. It is best we wait to hear from other community users who has an experience in this. Sorry I can't be of help this time and wish you a good one.
