Cost of repair for out of warranty DELL Precision M4600?

Hello,

I apologize if this is an incorrect forum category in which to post this message.

I have a DELL Precision M4600 that is no longer in warranty... The machine has recently developed a crack in the connector to which the fan for the discrete GPU attaches; however, the fan can still be plugged in and, indeed, when connected properly, the connection passes all diagnostic tests in the BIOS. This is the only issue with the machine of which I am aware.

Would anyone know how much it would cost to repair this connector (particularly if working through DELL Support) of the motherboard? I really do not wish to replace the motherboard because, while I can perform the replacement, I truly love the current configuration, motherboard, and Service Tag; my heart aches that there is an issue with the motherboard and, by extension, the system.

Please let me know.

Is there not anyone...who has any thoughts about the costs of such a repair? The aforementioned connector is the only issue with the motherboard (and even then it passes diagnostics if the fan is inserted to match the original positioning of the connector). My heart is sore.

Would using the Chat option for DELL Support incur a fee? Even before a form of service is purchased and even if I just wish to discuss repair options for physical damage? The description for Chat states:

Would a DELL service technician be able to replace the outer plastic that comprised the connector for "FAN2"? None of the pins of this slot are affected. What kind of fee would this repair incur?
