Notification from Dell Update: The system has been updated

New Dell XPS 15 running Windows 10.  I've had this computer for 4 days and I get a notification from Dell Update that the system has been updated every time I restart the system.  When I go into Dell Update, it indicates that the last update was 3 days ago.

1.  Is it normal that I get this notification upon every system restart?  Does it actually mean that the system is up-to-date?

2.  While Dell Update software does show what updates have been done to the system and the version number, it doesn't get any more info, e.g. data/time that update was applied, or summary notes of the update.

I've owned my Dell XPS for several years and described problem has just started for me.  Ever since the last update Ive been getting a popup from the tray that says "Dell Update" "The system has been updated." This is not issued through the Notification system but is comping directly from the software.  It appears after each reboot.  It does not timeout.  It only clears through direct user action, but reoccurs on the next reboot.

Same problem here.  Inspiron 7390 2n1.  For me, this problem just started a month or so ago.  I bought my computer in June, and I'm pretty sure it's still under warranty, although I hope that doesn't matter.

Any idea, Dell, when this will be fixed?

Just want to add my voice to the thread, so that if anyone at Dell is paying attention, they might realize that this problem is pervasive. For me, the message started popping up about 3 days ago. Not a big deal, but definitely a bug (recently introduced) that requires fixing.

I've had an Inspiron 15 7000 for over a year, and when Dell Update updated itself on 11th December this prompt began to appear after every reboot. I've noticed that when I run Dell  Update by hand now the dates of last check and last update never change.

Same issue here.  Just started a few days ago.  Dell XPS 15 9550.

My laptop is under warranty, and I spent at least two hours today working with Dell support on this issue.  Bottom line:  No joy.

Based on my experience today, I surmise that Dell updated their "Dell Update"software in anticipation of Windows 10 version 1909.  In the process, they rendered it incompatible with Windows 10 1809, which is what my laptop has been running ever since I bought it in June of this year.  I have no intention of updating to 1909 until I have to, although Dell support asked me to do that on the chance that it would fix the problem with Dell Update.

My next step will be to uninstall Dell Update and Dell Update for Windows 10 and then install some prior version of the software.  No one at Dell seems to know a version that will actually work with version 1809, so I'm in no hurry to waste any more of my time on this.  I'll just live with the errant "update" messages from Dell update.

I'll continue to watch this thread in case anyone figures out what to do, but I'll confirm to everyone here that Dell's staff doesn't now what to do if you're still under warranty.

I'm running Windows 10 Pro 1903 and this issue just started with the last update.  I have an Inspiron 7586 15 2-in1 laptop.

I have the same annoying issue with my Inspiron 5680.

It is hard to understand why Dell can't fix or neglects to pay attention to the issue which seems to have been experienced by many Dell customers.

My voice added - same problem.  Won't turn updates off because IF AND WHEN Dell does decide to fix it, I want that update!  C'mon Dell.

Same problem here.  The "System has been updated" message keeps popping up.  It's a minor problem that has only occurred after my last Dell system update, but it is VERY annoying!  Dell -- please fix it!

Same here. System update notification started 2 days ago on my Alienware Aurora R5 (3 year old machine and still under warranty). Last update I did was a SupportAssist recommended update on 18th December "- Dell Update Application for Win32 - A00 - 84.8 MB - Recommended - Installed". Frustrating seeing this message come up all the time!!

DELL ... PLEASE FIX!!
