Latitude 7214 - keyboard not working

the internal pegtron keyboard was not responding well and now totally dead.  think i found the culprit is the twisted ribbon cable but there are no nicks.

but maybe the keyboard controller card (blue in the picture above) is bad.  is it not possible to purchase that keyboard controller card separately? the replacement system boards (43RD6 - i5, FY1VN - i7 pictures below) do not include that keyboard controller card?

fixed by swapping in the A00 revision keyboard from the 7204.  there was no need to replace the keyboard controller card.

looks the same as the keyboard junction circuit board (14KBBD) from the 7404.

found a used one on ebay but can't tell the part number.
