Hello,

Give this link a look, it may have what you're looking for:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GCVKH

The page does have a different title, but the text body does describe it as "Dell EMC Server Management Pack 7.1 for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager."

Hi,

Servers having iDRAC9 can be monitored using the servers and rack workstation licensed/non-licensed monitoring features. These are not supported through the DRAC Monitoring feature.

Please refer to  Dell Hardware discovery and grouping table on pages 63-64 in https://topics-cdn.dell.com/pdf/server-management-pack-suite-v71_users-guide_en-us.pdf

For more details on using Servers and Rack Workstation monitoring features, please refer above link.

Regards,

Anjana

Yes, sorry for the confusion. iDRAC9 has been referred to as 14G server in the 7.1 document. 14G servers have the iDRAC9 in them. DRAC Monitoring Management packs do not support discovery of these servers onwards.

Yes, You can monitor the Dell Servers having iDRAC 9 using Servers and Rack Workstation or the Servers and Rack workstation (licensed) monitoring features.

1. Servers and Rack Workstation monitoring feature:

This feature uses the SCOM agent based discovery of the node to be monitored. The node should be having the compatible Dell EMC OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node for Windows installed on the Windows Server OS.

This feature is available in the Dell EMS Server Management Pack Suite v7.1.1 as well as the Dell EMC OpenManage Integration for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager v7.1.1

 2. Servers and Rack workstation (licensed) monitoring feature

a) This feature uses the SCOM agent based discovery of the node to be monitored. The node should be having the compatible Dell EMC iDRAC Service Module for Windows installed on the Windows Server OS. These managemnt packs are available in the Dell EMS Server Management Pack Suite v7.1.1 as well as the Dell EMC OpenManage Integration for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager v7.1.1.

b) Agent-less monitoring of the Dell EMC servers using the iDRAC IP, through WSMAN protocol. This capability is via the appliance-based solution - Dell EMC OpenManage Integration for Microsoft System Center Operations Manager v7.1.1.

Please refer to the product documentation for more details. https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/product-support/product/server-management-pack-suite-v7.1.1/docs

Solution number 2 Servers and Rack workstation (licensed) monitoring feature with Dell EMC iDRAC Service Module.

Is that the solution which is intended to replace Solution number 1. with Dell EMC OpenManage Server Administrator.

As i understand it, OMSA is end of life.
