Hello MauricioMedina,

I'm sorry to see your R230 is freezing after the BIOS update. It sounds like it is not completing POST.

Start with a flea power drain and if that does not resolve clear the NVRAM:

drain flea power (shut down, disconnect power cables, hold in power button 20 seconds with cords removed) then reconnect power

Check boot  results

If it still fails to complete POST then try NVRAM clear next.

Clear NVRAM (there is a map under the lid to show you location)

Shut down. Open lid and set the NVRAM jumper to the Clear position

- power up to the error about the jumper

Shut down and move jumper back to default  and power up.

Check boot results

Please let me know how it goes.

Hi Charles, I'm stuck with the same problem, I did a drain flea power procedure and I cleared NVRAM with the procedure you mentioned and with the documentation instructions but server keeps freeze loading BIOS drivers.
We didn't update BIOS yet, our current BIOS version is 1.3.2, this problem just started after a server reboot.

Could you give some advice? Would we need to update BIOS?

Kind Regards!

Hello,

If you've already tried performing the power drain and the NVRAM clear, then I agree with flashing the firmware being the next best course of action. You might also consider flashing the iDRAC, too. That would give you a clean firmware image on the BIOS and all the systems management that you can flash. Let us know if you have additional questions!
