Optiplex 9030 - upgrade CPU i3 to i5

Dear experts

I have Dell Optiplex 9030 with i3-4150 and i want to make sure that the i5-4690S are compatible?

I found in https://i.dell.com/sites/csdocuments/Shared-Content_data-Sheets_Documents/ar/dz/CSG-EN-XX-ALL-OptiPlex-9030-AIO-Technical-Guidebook.pdf that it is compatible. But when I replaced it, computer won't pick up and the power button is blinking amber (3 blinks followed by a short pause, 2 blinks, long pause, then repeats).

Any idea why?

Best regards

Success. I update bios on Optiplex 9020 with i5-4690S and them put CPU in to Optiplex 9030 and everything works fine.

Thanks for your suggestions.

Have you tried putting the i3 back to see if it still posts?

if yes, but i5 does not post, try updating bios to latest if not already done, but understanding flashing bios always has risk.

5 VID 3, 2 3 blinks followed by a short pause, 2 blinks, long pause, then repeats Video Subsystem failure Video subsystem configuration activity in progress or video subsystem failure.

AIO doesnt have cards GPU failed, replace the motherboard.

When you took off the heatsink you put it back on  and cracked the piece of glass that is the GPU soldered to the board. Sticking a fork in you because you are done.

The Proceros i5-4690S is from the Optiplex 9020 and it worked and works fine even when removed from the Optiplex 9030.

Optiplex 9030 has the latest bios ver. A22
