So basically, I got an Alienware R11 with an i9 10900F, RTX 3070, and 128 gb of RAM. I want to know if the High-Performance CPU Liquid Cooling and 550W PSU would be powerful enough. If it is not, can someone please help me with one that could FIT and is at least somewhat cheap ($100 or below for 850W is what I would consider ideal). Thanks!!!
I have a G5 desktop with the 10900F + RTX 3070 and aftermarket air cooling. The 500W PSU that comes with it seems more than capable of running it in games.
The GPU goes up to 220W and the CPU usually stays under 100W in games. Running CPU stress tests, the CPU boosts to ~200W and stays there for as long as I run the test (I removed the limits on turbo boost using ThrottleStop), but the GPU is not used during those, so I've never had power demand over what the PSU can give. Also, if my air cooling keeps it under 65 in games, I'm sure your liquid cooling would do even better, so you can benefit from the i9's TVB (Turbo Velocity Boost) which gives you an extra 100MHZ while the temps are under 70.
yeah, you'll be fine. an AIO consumes 10-15W, so you have plenty of power headroom. Like I said above, I'm running a 10900 and RTX3070 on 500W and never had power issues.
I already have the liquid cooling system, it’s just wether the psu can power everything or jot, although I’ve done some research and believe it’ll be fine. Thanks though!!!
They addressed the issue was sometime in 2019, if you bought it from a major retailer in 2020 you're probably good. They dropped the word "plus" ( or actually the symbol +) from the lettering, I meant to say.
