3DMark Time Spy, GPU power: R1 150W(max), R2 125W(max)/150W(max, Fn+F1)
Ran some games like Forza Horizon 5, Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, Cyberpunk 2077, Far Cry 6, F1 2021, Total War Warhammer 3, max GPU Power on R1 can easily reach 150W without Fn+F1 turbo mode, on R2 most of the time only 125W on GPU. If I turn turbo mode on on R2, the GPU can reach 150W but the CPU will step down very soon.
My problem is the RTX 3080 Ti, I can't get it working on the 160W max power (without Dynamic Boost from NVIDIA). Most of the time it can only work under 125W power with CPU only around 130W and 95℃, and scores a little bit less than R1 in game benchmarks.
What may I do wrong?
1. Is the AWCC bugged to tweak RTX 3080/3080 Ti Power Limit and Thermal Limit?
2. Is the AWCC bugged to UNLINK the GPU Power Limit and GPU Thermal Limit?
3. Is it the current BIOS/vBIOS tweaking that prevents RTX 3080 Ti on R2 exceeds the 150W power limit even on turbo mode?
4. If [3] is true, when can we get the new BIOS update to release the true R2 power?
5. If nothing above is correct, what may I do wrong that holds my R2 back? What can I do to release the true R2 power(12900HK at 130W with 3080 Ti at 175W at the same time).

Please check the system's activity by collecting some logs using HWinfo. This will help us to identify any abnormal behavior and the cause of it. Please follow these instructions: 1. Download and install the app HWinfo here https://dell.to/37693Mc; 2. Once installed, start it up. Leave the sensors boxes blank and continue 3. Select the Save Report option. 4. Under Export Format select HTML and go Next 5. Make sure all components but Current User are marked and click on Finish 6. Select the Sensors option. This will open a new window 7. On the bottom of this new window you will see an icon of a sheet of paper with a green plus symbol on it. Click on it and save the file on the desktop (to make sure it does not get lost) 8. Start testing your games for about 20-30 minutes. Continue playing even if the issue occurs again, that is actually what we are looking for. 9. Once passed this period of time, go back to HWinfo and where the sheet of paper icon had a green + symbol. You will notice it now has a red X. Click on it.
Once you have the file, please share it with us using any cloud service of your preference and we will proceed to analyze it.
I've been trying to figure this out as well. Something is definitely funky with the AWCC Thermal Profiles. I'm not using AWCC Overclocking. I was using TimeSpy as a test and I was just troubleshooting the GPU. The GPU would not go over 140'ish watt on 'Performance', but if I change to 'Full Speed' I get 175 watt... BUT... the fans stay on FULL SPEED even at idle. Does not make sense that the 'Performance' profile does not give max performance and the fans increase to full 'when needed'.
Out of the box, the R2 3080ti scores lower than the 3080 in the R1.
It is fun to see the i9 score lower than the i7 due to thermal throttling as well.
Personally, I think everything is controlled in the BIOS and the AWCC is there just to drive us nuts and scratch our heads!!
1- "My problem is the RTX 3080 Ti, I can't get it working on the 160W max power (without Dynamic Boost from NVIDIA)." RTX 3080Ti mobile TGP= 150W+25W. 175W will only be delivered under the right conditions.
2- "What can I do to release the true R2 power(12900HK at 130W with 3080 Ti at 175W at the same time)." It's impossible at this laptop. At full load on both, CPU + GPU, the x17 can do ~100W on the i9 and ~150W on the 3080Ti because of the temps limits.
