Setting Unix permissions on a Windows Cifs Share using Groupfile
I have a celerra tree quota that also has an cifs share created. A Unix group has been created to restrict access. The unix file is 775, the umask on the cifs share is 002. An entry has been added to the group file with the groupname and id. The file system is in mixed mode. Currently members of the group only have read access on Windows, but everything is working fine from an Unix perspective. What needs to be done manage the windows permissions from Unix.

In order for Windows to control access for both CIFS and NFS, the accesspolicy must be set to NT. But that's not the only consideration, and unfortunately, the topic is a little more in-depth than we can cover here.
Take a look at the manual entitled "Managing EMC Celerra for a Multiprotocol Environment" in the Documentation CD. The Doc CD can be downloaded from Powerlink. Navigate to the following path:
Support > Technical Documentation and Advisories > Hardware/Platforms Documentation > Celerra Network Server > General Reference
The doc set is called "Celerra Network Server Documentation CD" and is roughly the third or fourth choice down in the list.
