No HBAs in PowerPath

I am installing several new Windows 2003 x64 servers and have this problem on all of them. They are HP DL585s with 2 PCI-E 4x Qlogic HBAs. I have followed the steps outlined in the procedure generator for installing the HBAs but they are not listed in the Adapters in PowerPath. I have connected only one HBA and it is seen by our CX600 and is listed as registered. What am i doing wrong and how do I get PowerPath to see my HBAs?

As a side note, the servers have multiple NICs and the server was registered with the wrong IP, how do i change that?

PowerPath will not show your HBAs until you put the host in the storage group and it can see LUNs. For changing the host name ...search this forum, it's here somewhere.

Getting the IP address set properly on a multi homed host is fairly easy if you use an AgentID.txt file. I know you'll find the details somewhere in the forums, cause I was involved in this discussion once before, but I can't find it quickly.

Basically you need to set up a pure text file (agentid.txt) in the same folder on your host where NaviAgent is installed. This text file should have the fully qualified domain name of the host on the first line and the IP address of the interface you want to use for management on the second line. Make sure there are at least two blank lines at the end of the file. Once you put this file on the host, just stop and restart the agent. Most of the time this will even correct the IP for a host that registered wrong the first time.

If not, let us know and we'll take it one step further.

To get the correct NIC to register in Navisphere; Right click on My Network Places select properties > click on the advanced tab > click advanced settings > on the Adapters and Binding tab move the primary network adapter to the top of the Connections list > click OK > restart the navi agent
