Question regarding Orange On/Off button light.

My nephews PC will no longer turn on.
He has a Dimension but I'm not sure which one but its old, older than my 4500. (3+ years)
Anyway he told me that when he tries to turn it on the On/Off button is ORANGE instead of the usual GREEN.
Does anyone know if this is a specific problem or does it simply indicate an unknown problem?
My first thought is that his power supply went bad but I don't know spit about diagnosing these kind of problems.
Thanks!

montazuma.

If the power LED is solid or flashing Amber, this could indicate a system failure, either the motherboard, CPU or Power Supply.

It would help to post the computer model.

Blinking/flashing amber LED is *generally* a MoBo failure.  Solid amber LED is *generally* a PSU failure.  I say generally because Lord knows someone out there will say "run diagnostics" et al.
