15-7559 hinges are defective
The left hinge broke first on my 15-7559, then the right one. I have noticed other posts complaining about the exact same issue and hinge.
Dell attributes this to user abuse and surmises that people are opening the right hand corner first, putting stress on the left hinge. I am left - handed. so I doubt that.
I opened up the back and immediately two tiny screws fell out. Neither had any evidence of locktight having been used on them.
Since my warrenty had expired and my laptop was otherwise unusable, I carefully drilled four tiny holes through the plastic, two on each side, and threaded through thin plasic coated paper clips to "stitch it together." That has worked for now to hold it together.
Given the number of people compaining about this hinge issue and Dell's failure to admit a problem, I will not be replacing my system with a Dell. That is a shame because I had exclusively used Dell in my office for myself and employees and my home for at least the past15 years.
