Hello,

I have had this issue twice now. I would be on my laptop and it would be working fine ALL day and then I would shut it off for the night. When i would wake and try to power it on, it would do nothing for the most part but occasionally it would light up for about a second or so and turn off. Both times I have resolved this by re-seating the CMOS/coin cell battery. Although I have solved this issue on my own, it is still VERY upsetting. Why the *** does this keep happening? 

The first time this happened, I had just installed the latest BIOS and restarted it and it worked 100% fine. It wasn't until I had turned it off for the night and it did not work the next morning. I followed the instruction on how to install the latest BIOS very closely and I had done this twice before with no problem at all! 

The second time this had happened was yesterday when I had just updated the Wifi adapter and some other minor drivers through device manager. While I was still using my laptop, it turned to a BSOD -- DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL. When it did that, the speakers just made a constant buzzing sound which ceased after it began restarting. All I was doing was watching YouTube when this happened. And when it was in the process of restarting it froze on the Alienware logo. I waited approx 15 minutes hoping it would move along but it did not. I held down the power button until it turned off and then attempted to restart it with no success. 

This morning, I completely disassembled it in order to remove both the main battery and CMOS/coin cell battery.

WHAT CAUSED THIS?!? It seems to be whenever i update drivers. I always update from the Dell website on the page where I enter my service tag under "Drivers and Downloads," or through device manager. Is it a faulty piece of hardware? Software conflict? Please, please help me end this for good.
