Code 43 on gtx 780m

I have an alienware 17 with a gtx 780m gpu. Unfortunately, the laptop fell from a table approximately 2 feet high and caused my gpu to become undetected. I tried reseating the gpu at first, then reinstalling the drivers, even trying to restore the laptop to factory settings. Nothing seems to solve the problem. Any suggestions? Or is it time to buy myself a replacement gpu?

    Hi.

If it was working fine before the fall and you've reseated it then it's probably time to look at repairs, I had something similar happen to me with a Alienware X51 desktop falling from around the same height.

Take it somewhere that has working on Alienware computers before, you don't want a novice working on high performance tech.

Get them to check the motherboard too, it may be that's faulty and not the GPU (Mobo is a cheaper repair)

Silver lining is - If it's the GPU you can go for a higher replacement if you have the money...

One other thing to remember - Do you or your parents (sorry don't know your age) have home contents insurance????

If you do, you have a good chance of being able to claim the repairs on your home/contents insurance.

As the GTX780M is not longer in production, the insurance company will have to replace it with a current model GPU of similar power, they wont (and you shouldn't accept it) use a secondhand GPU because they will want a warranty on the item they replace, so potentially you could get a free upgrade to a GTX980M if you have insurance and play your cards right

    Hi!

Thanks for your suggestion. Unfortunatelt though, my insurance coverage ended a year ago, so i think getting a free replacement or upgrade is out of the question. Also, I've tried looking for trustworthy repair shops, but it's hard to find one especially here in the Philippines. I even tried Dell centers but only refered me to tech support via toll free numbers which puts me on hold everytime. About the mobo, is there any way i can check it for damage myself?
