My laptop has *** out on me. The lights and fan will turn on for about 4 seconds then shut down. I've tried removing the power sources and holding power to drain any reserve and same results. If I put just the adapter or just the battery it won't do anything but a subtle click sound. It requires both in order to do the 4 second boot.  - Mike
