Bad USB prots and No booting
I have a Dimension 5150 that when I press the power button the 1-2-3 lights come on and stay on. For the last 2-3 weeks I would get a "Power surge on USB " anytime I'd try to use the front USB ports and today I couldn't get either one to work so I looked at them a bit closer and saw that one was broke and the other had the pins mangeled pretty bad. WOuld that cause it not to boot up? If so How had is that board to replace? I sen some on ebay and I opened the case and see just one screw but is there anything else holding it in? I looked HERE "http://support.dell.com/support/edocs/systems/dim5150/en/sm/tshoot1.htm#wp1114195" to see what the code was and it say's "Another failure has occurred". Could it be the USB in the front stoping it from booting up? IS ther anyway I can disable them?
