I have a Lexmark X3430 that has a built in fax program and I know XP has it's own. I tried to install and set up XP's fax program and thought I had done everything it said right. When I try to send a fax everything seems to go ok till it starts to dial. I keep getting 'no dial tone or phone line in use' message. I have a Intel PRO/100 VE card (Intel 537EP V9xDF PCI Modem).I never used this before ,usually fax stuff from work but now I'm need it more and more at home.I have At&t phone with DSL. If you need anymore info let me know.I don't even hear it when it's supposed to be dialing.

a silly question but do you have your dial up modem connected to the telephone socket and does the socket have a filter. You can't fax via your dsl connection.

yes faxing is sent down the phone line but your dsl modem can't handshake with a remote fax modem as you can't dial a telephone number using it.

BIOS Update Question

I would like to ask if my BIOS needs updating. My current BIOS is a Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A01. If it does need updating, how do I do it?
