How can I get to a 'clean install' when restoring the factory software with Snap Restore?

I have had my computer nearly a year and although I regularly run Norton Utilities /Clean Sweep, I would like to clear out the Registry. A previous factory software restore seemed to leave a significant part of the registry intact
