I've noted that often (though seemingly not always), there's a lag between typing a particular character (usu. comma, period, apostrophe) and its appearance on screen - it doesn't show until I type another character or change the focus (eg. from Word comment to main document).

The only input keyboard installed is US QWERTY. At one point, an international keyboard was installed, but I removed it early one.

I've checked every regional and input setting I can find, and don't see any non-English, international, or other keyboards that would call for accented characters, etc. I don't see any reason for the input delay.

Suggestions welcome.
