Since the day I removed this notebook from the box and began using it, I have noticed that on occassion the keyboard will drop random characters as I'm typing.  It occurs at an average rate of 3-4 characters per paragraph of text typed.  It only appears to happen when typing into edit boxes on HTML page forms, such as online message forums, web-based sign-up forms, etc.  In other words, I don't believe it occurs while typing things like Word docs, Outlook e-mail composition, Notepad docs, etc.

 

Also, sometimes the position of the cursor will jump to a position on a previous line while I'm typing and really screw things up if I don't happen to catch it before I type too many characters.  This phenomenon seems to occur regardless of what application I'm using.  I've also seen the cursor jump completely off of the form that I'm typing in, as well as lost focus on the form, where I have to actually click the mouse cursor back into the edit box to get back to what I was doing.  This is very aggrivating.

 

Case in point, I have had to go back and edit the above post a total of 9 times to clear up dropped characters and cursor position jumps.

 

Any ideas, aside from calling Dell Support?  Diags revealed no problems.
