SOLVED!!
Hi,
I have had this EXACT same problem and SOLVED it!!!
I have the Quadro FX2500m graphics card, and this caused the same faults and problem.
The problem is that overheating can cause the board to warp, and this is due to dust and buildup, or just general use and knocks.
My M90 is out of warranty, so I had to take measures into my own hands. ... I saw advertsied on ebay 2 sellers fixing this exact problem in the UK for £80 or your money back.
Turns out they are re-flow soldering the boards in their home domestic oven for 8-10 mins on 200 deg C!!!
Prob is caused by the BGA (ball grid array) chips desoldering, or developing 'dry joints'.
So I undertook the same mod myself. There are video tutorials in Youtube if you search for the mod. Basically stripping card from M90, taking off all removable parts, and putting on tin foil balls in the home oven. I then baked for 8 mins on 200C and let it cool slowly.
Now works as good as new, and been working again for over 6 weeks since i did it with no probs. Actually runs better and cooler as I cleaned it up too. Great computer.
Now its fixed, I might consider SSD and other updates, as its still great for 3D CAD using the Quadro, and this mod worked well for me.
Kind regards, Bid
