2407 WFP Features and Performance

After finally managing to calibrate the monitor using a Spyder 2 (helps to read the manual thoroughly), I still have questions about features and performance. Actually, I'm not sure that the calibration was done 100 percent correctly, but with the exception of a slighly PINK cursor and hour glass icon, everything else seems to be fine:)

Today I connected a Mini-DV camcorder using S-video and the picture is not sharp to the point that it is blurry. The video is not nearly as sharp as when viewed on a 32-inch standard TV and on a 55-inch HDTV.  I went with the 2407 primarily for digital photography editing, and am not really sure as to what to expect when connecting video sources such as a camcorder, but I think performance should be better than what I'm getting.

I bought the monitor as a replacement for a Dell 18-inch Ultra Sharp flat panel that had failed, and for several reasons I did not have time to thoroughly research what I was buying -- essentially, I wanted a larger version of what I had, but it seems that I now have this very large monitor that gamers love...I am not a gamer -- nothing against gamers, in fact I might become one:)  My thought is that I have blown about $300 for features that I might not use, and if it turns out that those features are not performing as I think they should, my thought is to return it to Dell while I can.

I would really like to hear from Dell.

Thanks in advance.
