I have a 2407WFP monitor and Windows XP. It has been working fine for about a year. Recently I've been having issues with the usb connectivity. I had my mouse plugged into the monitor and have used the card reader without issues. When I'm not using the computer I just lock windows and turn off the monitor. Recently however when I'd turn the monitor back on my mouse would not come back (no power). I'd have to reboot windows with the keyboard to get it back. I also noticed the card reader is not working (because all fed from the usb connection). I'm sure sure there's anything wrong with the monitor and am wondering if maybe a recent windows update changed something. Does anyone know anything about this and have a solution? I've since plugged my mouse into a front usb port on my PC but is annoying I can't use the card reader anymore unless I reboot each time or just always leave the monitor on.
I have done that now but regardless it's a pain to have to reboot every time I want to use the card reader in the monitor as well. That whole usb chain seems to die if the monitor is turned off and then back on later.
Everything works after a reboot (card reader, ueb ports). When I lock windows and trurn off the monitor is when the problem starts. When I come back and turn on the monitor and unlock windows it's as if that usb port crashed. Unplugging and plugging the usb cable back in does nothing. In fact, when I try to restart windows it it get's most of the way to restarting but never makes it all the way so I have to power off the PC. It just started happening recently so I'm not sure if a windows update changed something to do with USB or there's a hardware issue. I've since plugged my mouse directly into the pc's usb port and changed my power options to turn off the monitor after 20 mins and I never physically turn off the monitor with the power button anymore. So far so good.

I would never run the mouse or keyboard though the monitor USBs. I always plug my mouse or keyboard to the USB ports on rear of the PC.
