Restore database on a remote server using nsrsqlrc

I would like to restore a database from a backup server on to a remote server using nsrsqlrc commandline options.

Could anyone please let me know if it is possible to do it using nsrsqlrc?

Thanks in advance

Yes, that should be possible as same command gets called during the GUI restore too. Appendix in admin guide has part where this command is discussed so take look at it.

    Thanks for your immediate reply.

Actually I am very new to this Networker tool. Let me explain my requirement in a better way.

I have a backup server A in which the database is available and server B where the Networker tool is installed.
I would like to invoke nsrsqlrc command on server B and restore the database which is available on server A on to server C. Is it possible?

Also, it would be really helpful if you could post the command to do it.

    Thanks.

Well, I do not have command top of my head, but yes this is possible. I assume server B is your backup server. In that case you invoke command on server C (as you need SQL module installed on target) and do it. For first time, I would suggest to use GUI - it's going to be much easier for you. Also, in log you will then see exactly which CLI command and with what parameters is used. The only thing you need to do before is give access rights to user doing this on server C to be able to browse data from server A.

In case that B is not backup server but some in the middle machine, I guess this is still possible (at least with file system is), but it makes more complicated the steps you need to do before you start restore so I would suggest to do what I said above.

    Thanks for your suggestion!

I'll start off with the GUI and then look for the command line options used in the log.
