Intel 2200bg WPA Problem. Somebody please help...

I just received my 2nd new 630M, after the 1st had "severe" mother board problems from the time I opened the box. So I have a 630m, a pretty decent machine, with a famous/infamous Intel Pro 2200 BG built-in wireless card. For the last couple of days I am breaking my head trying to configure it with my D-Link router (Di-624 Ver c) using WPA-PSK. I have another wireless machine with a Linksys card talking to my Dlink router using WPA-PSK without ANY Problems. I CAN configure my 630M (with pro bg2200) using WEP 128 bit key, without any problems whatsoever. THe card comes up, connects to the router, and gets an IP within a second (so it should). When I configure it (i.e. intel 2200) to use WPA-PSK, the card says that it si trying to acquire an IP. It tries for a couple of minutes but evetually says that it has "limited or No connectivity", essentially faling back to the defaul MS 169.x.x.x Ip address.

I have configured 8-10 machines (3 of them my own, and a whole bunch for a couple of friends) using WPA-PSK and never had any problems with it. I have tried everything I can think of. For example, from using very simple key (for WPA-PSK passphrase) to upgrading the driver on the card.
these are the versions
Intel Proset utlility: 9.0.2.1

I see a newer driver on intel's website, but I am scared in downloading it from there as, OEM vendors, like DELL sometime make customizations to the driver. Since this is a dell machine, I downloaded the 9.0.2.31 driver from dell and installed it.
Can somebody please help me out? this problem is bugging the living day lights out of me.

- Hello Folks,I just downloaded the latest drivers from Intel. Here are the versions:Intel Proset config Utility: 10.1.0.3Driver version: 9.0.3.9BUT no avail. WEP works fine. I tried using WPA-PSK but it just doesn't connect at all. Same behaviour of the card thinking for a couple of minutes and then giving me "limited or no connectivity".Please help????
The problem could possibly be with the D-Link DI-624, also... depending on what version firmware you're using with your DI-624.
I came across this post a while back... this user got his best results with a combination of the Intel 9.0.3.9 driver (Intel 2200 wireless adapter) and the DI-624's "2.71b10" firmware, while using WPA2-AES ("click here").
The "DI-624 Firmware Release Notes" for the "2.71b10" firmware states: "Fix Centrino Issue" ("click here").

The 2.71 versions are BETA builds, so they're not listed on the "D-Link DI-624 support site". It's basically the "2.70 final build" with fixes/enhancements made to it. I posted the links to the 2.71 BETA downloads (the last link in my previous post).
A lot of users with the DI-624 and an Intel Wireless card (2200 or 2915) were experiencing DHCP connection problems with the "2.70" firmware and some would be connected, but not able to browse the Internet. You would have to try it to see how it works for you. Even with the same exact setup as some other users, you could experience different or no problems with the same firmware.
As mentioned here ("click here"), I'm using the "2.71b10" with our DI-624 (WPA2) and our wireless connections (I-9300/Intel_2915, I-6000/Intel_2915, I-8000/DWL_G650), with no problems.

I'm guessing that you're using the default "Super G with Dynamic Turbo"?
If you are, try a different setting... like "Super G without Turbo". You might also want to try a different channel.

Did you use the "D-Link FW update "Talon88 Crash Recovery" Step by Step" instructions to update your firmware ("click here" - also, the last link of my post with the BETA download links)?

Most people have solved problems like this with the Intel cards by getting the latest drivers directly from Intel. Dell uses Intel drivers (not customized) but usually they don't post the latest Intel drivers.
