Latitude C600 Modem Problem

My C600 says it has a standart 56000bps k56 flex moden.

When I try to dial nothing happens.

I ran a diag. on: Hardware ID Moto_gen

Message appears:

"Modem failed to respond.  Make sure it is turned on and properly conncected.

Check to see if the interrupt for the port is properly set."

WHEN I TRY TO USE THE MODEM I ALSO GET AN ERROR 692

Ok what do I do now?

You could try checking the modem card to see if the connector got loose....

Just open the RAM / memory module cover on the bottom of the laptop, and you'll see the mini-pci modem card.  It should have be connected with the right plug (in addition to being in the mini-pci slot).  If it looks connected fine, try reseating the card, and then going to the device manager to see if it is recognized, and then maybe uninstall the driver, and then reinstall the driver.
