I am trying to install Qwest DSL, and I have correctly installed the network adapter (Broadcom), but when I try to run the set up wizard for the DSL modem, it gives me an error but everything looks ok.
I have contacted Qwest and they have informed me that my network adapters are not functioning correctly. However there are no errors on the adapters. The modem itself installed a separate adapter.
This all started after a reformatting. I reformatted and the drivers for the network adapter were missing so I reinstalled those and there is still a problem with the internet. The modem is an Actiontec DSL Gateway modem supplied by Qwest.
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Which model computer do you have? When you reinstalled Windows, did you install the chipset drivers for the motherboard before installing drivers for any other devices?
What do you mean by this statement "I did try installing the driver before anything else". Which driver did you "try" to install first. Does this mean that installing that driver was unsucessful. Please provide description, step by step, of which drivers you installed after reinstalling Windows. Please note that unless the chipset drivers are installed first, Windows cannot recognize nor properly install drivers for any devices that are integrated on the motherboard, including the ethernet adapter, the video adapter, and the USB root hubs.
