"server" service

Alright, here is the scoop:

I can no longer share files over my network. My "server" service has somehow disappeared off of my computer. Is there anything I can do to get that service back or am I looking @ a reformat?

    start > run > services.msc

in there is where the "server" service is supposed to be. It allows one to share files or printers over the network. My ip is 192.168.1.104, but that isn't really relavant to my issue.

    I'm running windows XP pro

What "server service" are you talking about?  Pleae provide more details - the more details, the better we will be to help you, since we cannot see what is going on from the other end of the internet.

I assume you have a router for your network. You will need to give more information as in Do you know your IP address? It should be something like 192.168.1.XXX. To check on this click on your network connection and the sidebar should provide that information. If it is anything else you should shut down the computer, shut down the router, restart the router than restart your computer. If that does not work you can always use System Restore.
